The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about what security measures to have in place are a matter for individual retailers, not the UK Government or Parliament.
We could accept a petition calling for facial recognition cameras to be banned, so they cannot be used by any retailers or other businesses.
