Make it mandatory for insurance companies to act on behalf of their client.
I would like it to be mandatory for insurers to act on behalf of their clients even if they have not been instructed by their clients as this is why they have Public Liability Insurance
Currently, there it is down to the individual to contact their insurance company in order to act on behalf of their client, however, this falls down when the client does not act lawfully and inform their insurance company of an impending claim. This actually stops the individuals from being able to sue the person and use their insurance.
In my instance have a claim pending in which the defendant has not informed the insurance company and this means they will not face any claim against them,

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about whether to make an insurance claim are a matter for individual policy holders, not the UK Government or Parliament.
