Petition Details

To give northern English people the choice of joining Scotland and become free of the hands of Westminster.

Additional Information

Westminster has failed Northern England for decades. It is time to unite us with Scotland and put us under the control of First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you want the people of the North of England to vote on.

Scotland has its own government and parliament, but the UK Government is still responsible for policy in reserved areas, so a referendum along the lines you suggest wouldn't end the role of Westminster in the North of England.
