Petition Action

Review entitlement of taxpayer-funded perks of Former Prime Ministers of the UK.

Petition Details

Lifetime taxpayer-funded perks should NOT be made available to
former Prime Ministers who have:
a) served for less than three years
b) been removed via a vote of no confidence
c) been convicted of a crime or found guilty of breaching the Ministerial Code whilst in office.

Additional Information

Former Prime Ministers of the UK are entitled to several taxpayer-funded perks for life.
This should not be automatic.
Taxpayers deserve value for money.

Prime Ministers who have not been able to hold the job down for a reasonable length of time, who have been removed because of a vote of no confidence or who have broken the law or breached the ministerial Code whilst in office should not be entitled to a lifetime of taxpayer-funded perks.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly 'perks' you are referring to.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
