Reduce subsidies and household expense claims for MP’s paid by the taxpayer
Cease the taxpayer subsidies given to licensed premises in the Palace of Westminster. Cease the everyday household expense claims and subsidies enjoyed by MP’s. Most British people get no such feather bedding in these difficult times.
I want to reduce or eliminate the extraordinary subsidies and expenses enjoyed by members of both Houses of Parliament. The vast majority of British people don’t have such subsidising of their everyday life. We are told difficult choices have to be made, and are suffering through high inflation. Parliament should show leadership by making difficult choices for themselves first.

The House of Commons Catering service does not provide a subsidised service in the commercial sense of the word. Some venues make a profit, while in other venues the cost of providing the service does exceed the income received in sales due to the irregular hours and unpredictability of parliamentary business.
