1. Raise the Rent a Room Tax Free Threshold to £8,500

2. Allow Social Housing Tenants to Rent out Rooms

This would give an income to under occupied households so they would not have to pay spare room subsidy or claim benefits as they will have an income stream that would leave them better off.

3. Put a cap on how much households can charge for a single room or a double room. To protect against extortionate rent prices.

4. Pay rent Housing Benefit direct to Social Housing landlords.
