Provide funding for pre-schools to top up early years educators wages
Provide additional funding for preschools to top up fully qualified early years educators / practitioners in line with the current 30 hours funding being provided to 3 and 4 year olds to close the pay gap for this struggling industry and help retain quality staff.
Childcare is a vital occupation to keep this country running and Level 3 practitioners take on average 2 years to become qualified in early years then they will continuously undergo vital training to keep up to date with guidance to shape the future citizens, yet the average qualified nursery practitioner on the uk is earning £9.91 per hour. Although most outside of London are on minimum wage.
This is in comparison to the average hourly wage of a Supermarket Assistant at £11.27.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about pay for staff in the early years sector are a matter for their employers, not the UK Government or Parliament.
