If the in government party leader changes during fixed term a GE must be called.
A change of law is needed to the legislation around fixed term Parliaments. Current legislation around fixed term Parliaments to be amended to include that if the governing party leader stands down (the Prime Minister). A general election must be called following the change of the said party leader.
To limit in-house fighting and to many changes to the governing party leader (the Prime Minister). Fixed term parliaments are fine but adding this law would mean the British people would have a say on who is the governing party of the country and if they approve of their new party leader.
