Remove tax payer funded subsidies from all areas of the Palace of Westminster
Inflation at 10% plus, fuel costs rising and capped for 6 months, ‘efficiency savings’ are going to be demanded of our public services, meanwhile MPs are able to access subsidised restaurants and bars within the Palace of Westminster. Remove the subsidies.
Prices are rising for all. Shame on those who earn more than average and have the power to impact ordinary peoples financial lives who then use taxes raised to subsidise their eating and drinking habits. Pay full market rates and set a better example to the rest of UK society. Interns etc can continue to be subsidised, by the MPs who employ them.

The House of Commons Catering service does not provide a subsidised service in the commercial sense of the word. Some venues make a profit, while in other venues the cost of providing the service does exceed the income received in sales due to the irregular hours and unpredictability of parliamentary business. The House of Commons publishes details of the cost of House of Commons catering services: www.parliament.uk/site-information/foi/transparency-publications/hoc-transparency-publications/catering-services/transparency-reporting-catering-services/
