Petition Action

Require public referendums on renaming streets, removing statues, etc

Petition Details

The Government needs to act to protect our history from those attempting to revise or remove references to this.

Additional Information

No body should be able to rename streets, remove statues, rename buildings or any other institutions of historical significance without a majority vote from constituents.

Yes, laws exist to punish the vandalism of monuments. But action needs to be taken to block councils and regional bodies from being able to make decisions relating to historically significant places without the support of the local people.

Let this petition serve as the public’s will and demand to protect our history.
