Government ministers' pay to be tied to that of nurses for the next 100 years.
A UK Cabinet minister currently earns £67,505 per year, on top of their MP salary of £81,932. In contrast, the highest salary for a Band 6 nurse is £40,588. This disparity needs urgent correction, by asking the pay body IPSA to reduce Cabinet Ministers' top-up salary from £67,505 to £40,588.
The UK is experiencing a cost of living crisis and it is crucial that the Cabinet sets an example to show we are all in it together. It is unjustifiable for ministers to continue to receive such an exorbitant top-up on top of their (already generous) MP salary, and so Parliament should formally ask the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) to reduce ministerial pay to match that of a senior nurse.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government is directly responsible for setting ministerial salaries. IPSA is only responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay, not additional salaries for holding ministerial office.
