Educate GP's on Trans healthcare and authorise them to prescribe treatments.
Include education about transgender healthcare to medical school programmes, educate current general practice doctors about transgender healthcare, and allow treatments (such as HRT) to be prescribed within the privacy of the GP surgery and without issue or contradiction.
82% of transgender individuals consider suicide, and 40% have attempted (A. Austen et al, 2020). We believe that easier access to healthcare, such as HRT, would greatly increase the quality of life of such individuals, and an important stepping stone to this would be education for current and trainee doctors. Despite the Government's evident transphobic attitudes, this training should be mandatory to prevent, first, unnecessary stress to trans people, and second, mistaken prescription. Thank you

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about training for doctors are a matter for the NHS and relevant professional bodies, not the Government or House of Commons. And decisions on treatment for patients are clinical decisions for clinicians, not a matter for the UK Government or Parliament.
We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:
