Do not change the Equality Act (2010)
Keep the current legislation in place regarding the Equality Act (2010) or further add to it, guaranteeing that transgender individuals will remain protected against all forms of discrimination.
There have been multiple accounts that the current PM wishes to change the wording of the Equality Act (2010) so that transgender individuals are no longer protected under it (as mentioned in reports by The Telegraph). This will allow establishments to discriminate against trans people.
Medical transition is a long process and those that are yet to reach that will not be protected if transgender people are written out of the clause protecting against discrimination against the person’s sex.
