Keep protection of transgender people in the equality act
Amid rumours of "updating the equality act so that sex only means biological sex", the government should recognise the rights of this highly vulnerable minority and ensure we are still protected in the equality act.
Transgender people are incredibly vulnerable right now with hate crimes increasing and suicide rates amongst trans people some of the highest in the country. The law should ensure protection of everyone no matter their gender, and transgender people are in great need of this protection in the current social climate of this country.
