Petition Action

Stop Ticket touts from ruining the events industry and ripping off the public.

Petition Details

All major event ticket sites mandatory to have digital tickets for entry to events with each person going to the event having a photo per ticket. If resold through an official site, picture would be changed.
Tickets to only be resold through set sites and capped at a low percentage above face value.

Additional Information

I believe putting these rules in place for all major event sites would prevent touts from buying in bulk and reselling tickets for extortionate amounts just to profit.

This would bring back the life of the events industry and prevent people from missing out on getting tickets and also being charged 2,3,4,5 times the face value just for the privilege.

This would also help to combat crime.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about identification requirements for ticketed events, and how tickets can be resold, are a matter for event organisers, not the UK Government or Parliament.

We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:

Make the resale of event tickets for more than face value illegal: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/622416
