Change the rules governing Local Housing Allowance rates
Change the rules governing the way Local Housing Allowance rates are set, so that rates are increased to reflect increasing local rental prices
The Local Housing Allowance is currently set too low, and does not reflect the vast increase in rental prices. This leaves a significant shortfall in rent leaving many in a position where they have to choose between food, heating bills and rent. This is not acceptable.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. LHA rates are already based on local rental rates. If you'd like this to be changed, you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
