Provide funding for installation of solar PV on social housing

Petition Details

The Government should provide new funding for local authorities to install solar PV on social housing. This, alongside other measures announced, should help alleviate fuel poverty on the poorest people at risk from the energy crisis.

Additional Information

Many of the most vulnerable people live in social housing, and are affected by fuel poverty. The Government should provide funds for the installation of solar PV on social housing. This could be targeted to prioritise those on benefits. Tenant would benefit from energy generated and be able to do things like a washing at virtually no cost. Any surplus could be fed back to the grid, with the relevant local authority being paid for this by energy companies.
