Petition Action

Change the ageist, arbitrary rules of the Pension Protection Fund

Petition Details

An act of Parliament is needed to change the unfair situation caused by the PPF rules that penalise older pensioners.
Many people are receiving only a fraction of what they should be due, especially spouses of those deceased.

Additional Information

Just this week one of our campaigners deceased leaving his widow with just 50% of his much reduced pension.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about how the Pension Protection Fund works, but we're not sure exactly how you want the rules around the compensation it pays to be changed.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
