Petition Action

Make it compulsory for all businesses offer to call back

Petition Details

Because many businesses are offering very poor to very bad customer service and keep people holding on for hours waiting to speak to them

Additional Information

Many businesses are taking unfair advantage of their customers. Saving money by not employing enough people to answer the phone costing customers time and money while they’re on hold for very long periods. Many have a recorded message that gives no indication of how long the wait will be. The NHS is just as bad. This week I waited for 3.5 hours to make an appointment. I eventually got through only to be told there were no appoints left, and to call back the following day and repeat the process.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

How a private business delivers its customer services is a matter for it, not the UK Government or Parliament.
