Petition Action

Remove the need for consent to install double glazing in listed building

Petition Details

We want the Government to enable owners of listed buildings to install slim-profile double glazing, without needing to seek consent for this, provided the new windows are in the same style as the original windows.

Additional Information

We believe the Government needs to take action to enable people who own and live in a listed building, at a time when energy bills have increased dramatically, to take steps to reduce their energy costs and carbon emissions.
Now that double glazed windows in many suitable styles are available the Government should enable us look after our heritage in an appropriate and environmentally friendly way, without needing to seek consent.
