Create a statutory 'right to manage' for freeholders on new build estates.
Create a statutory 'right to manage' for freeholders on new build estates or force local councils to adopt roads and public spaces. New build home owners need more consumer rights to hold managing agents accountable. There must be a statutory right to manage as with leasehold property.
Residents on a private estate find they have to pay whatever charge the managing company decides for whatever level of service. This industry is not regulated enough and home owners currently feel ignored by the government. Action must be taken to stop the practice of 'fleecehold' and protect freeholders. This is in everyone's interest at it will speed up the selling of houses and boost the economic benefit of the housing market.
