Petition Action

Protect UK Citizens from Dangerous Food

Petition Details

This UK Government is putting public health at serious risk. Since leaving the EU, we are not carrying out checks on food imports and unscrupulous individuals in other countries are smuggling in dangerous foodstuffs (and quite probably drugs and weapons too).

Additional Information

The government is supposed to protect us. This looks like the opposite. Single Market and Customs Union would solve this.

"Checks on 22 lorries had discovered raw animal products - some dripping with blood - loosely stored in carrier bags and paper tissue.

She said: "These products were not separated from ready-to-eat products"

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand you're concern about dangerous food imports, but your petition doesn't mention what you'd like the Government to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
