Compulsory Domestic Rainwater Collection for all New build homes
Joined Up thinking by Planning Authorities
Produce guidance or statute to ensure that Planning Authorities require all new homes built in the UK to require inclusion of an appropriately sized rainwater collection system and associated Grey water supply to WC's and other non-potable connections.
Thousands of new houses increase demand for treated water and sewerage.
Climate Change means bigger, more frequent storms and more FLOODING.
If every new home included a rainwater collection system then:
1. Reduced need to spend £Billions to enlarge sewers
2. Prevent inundation of Water Treatment Works, reducing the number of raw sewerage discharges to rivers and sea. [HoL: Sewage pollution in England’s waters, 30 June, 2022]
4. Reduce treated water demand
5. Reduce the risk of flooding
