Petition Action

To implement ethical and humane treatment of cows and calves in UK dairy farms.

Petition Details

Dairy cows are constantly impregnated, their calves taken from them, the psychological distress of the treatment is clear to see. Stop calves being taken away from their Mothers, stop branding and dehorning. Educate the public on and make more available dairy alternatives.

Additional Information

The Dairy industry currently is abusive to cows, their calves and bulls. As a country of animal lovers and ethically minded people, being humane should be a given. Causing the psychological distress that current farming practices does is pure animal cruelty. Cows are seen as sentient beings, capable of feeling pain, having conscious thought. As a people, it’s time we stood up and stopped these barbaric practices.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand you'd like changes to animal welfare requirements, but we're not sure exactly what changes you'd like to see.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
