Stop plans for a new coal mine in Cumbria
A debate should be had in parliament about the environmental impact of a new coal mine in Cumbria. This petition and others should be used as evidence that the public do not support this new mine.
Coal mining damages the climate and moves Britain further from its net zero target. It reduces our ability to lobby other countries to mitigate the effects of climate change.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
