Change the way child benefit high income tax is calculated to total income

Petition Details

Currently if one parent earns over £50k a year they have to pay high income child benefit tax and pay it all back. This is regardless of whether the other parent is unemployed, working part time or on minimum wage. However if both parents earn £48k a year they don’t have to pay any tax back.

Additional Information

The high income child benefit tax calculation should be based on what both parents earn not on the individual parent.
