Stop the implementation of 15 minute zones in cities across the UK

Petition Details

There is an idea that splitting cities into zones to stop pollution. We want this to be stopped as it is going directly against the freedom that we aspire to have in the UK and should have in the UK.

Additional Information

This has already been approved in Oxford and plans have been set out for 2024. This has also been heavily considered in Canterbury aswell. If this is allowed to continue then it will not be long before it has been implemented across most cities across the UK.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about local roads are a matter for the relevant local authority, not the UK Government or Parliament.

If you are concerned about proposals regarding local roads in your area you could raise this with a local councillor who represents you. You can find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them, by entering your post code here: www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors
