Write off student loans for NHS and state school staff after five years
To encourage more health and educational workers to train we want the Government to write off student loans for NHS and state schools staff after five years. Interest on student loans should be frozen while they are working for the NHS or a state school.
If the debt is written off, these workers could benefit from not having to pay back over £50,000. This would be a particularly valuable benefit in a time where the Government are not able to raise wages due to the economic climate. It would reward the professionals who help the system and hopefully help prevent too many people going to the private sector too quickly.
