Make hair colour a protected characteristic to prevent discrimination
Extend discrimination protection in the Equality Act to hair colour, to try and help prevent discrimination and bullying of people for their hair colour.
Some people see bullying red-haired people is acceptable, but this is prejudice against people for a trait they were born with.
Whilst some people might see it as a laugh to belittle, demean and abuse children for being red haired or their phenotypical characteristic, it can be very harmful stripping these children of their positive self-identity and confidence and worse it can lead to school refusal, health problems, and even self-injurious behaviour.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
