Petition Action

Cutting Ofcom powers and preventing it from making policy

Additional Information

In 2009 The Prime Minister David Cameron promised us,

"Ofcom, as we know it, will cease to exist"-
“Tories would cut Ofcom powers”
And “Ofcom shouldn't be making policy”

These promises were not honoured and Ofcom is oppressing the consumer through undermining, bypassing and rewriting existing Laws

Ofcom is a Body operating outside the law of the Land. 60.000 consumers signed the Which? Campaign “Fixed means Fixed” and hundreds of thousands more complained, yet no one cares.

Before this started in 2011, we were just recovering from another one called “Automatic contract renewal”

Hundred thousand consumers that were tricked will never have faith in any Contract or agreement in the future, and that is bad all around.

It is also very sad, that no Select Committee, Minister, Secretary of State or anyone else that the public can turn to when it comes to Ofcom.

Respectfully ,calling on the Prime Minister to honour his promises mentioned above.
