Remove Personal Statements from 2023 - for students attending university in 2024
The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) has said that they will scrap Personal Statements from 2024, since they, as a minister said, as they 'favour middle-class'.
But if Personal Statements remain for those applying to university, are not the middle class still favoured for another year? Why not remove Personal Statements with immediate effect and give everyone more of an equal chance at applying for university? For too long, Personal Statements (and university applications as a whole) have favoured the culturally and financially privileged, while overlooking those with poorer life chances.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about university applications are a matter for individual universities and UCAS, which is independent of the UK Government or Parliament.
