Make electricity and gas cheaper for prepayment meters than direct debit charges
People using pre payment meters are charged more than those on direct debit. People who pay in front should have a cheaper rate as suppliers have money up front.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about caps on what energy providers can charge for energy are a matter for Ofgem, not the UK Government or Parliament.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to increase support through the Energy Price Guarantee for people on a pre-payment meter, if that's something you'd like to happen.
