Make anti-abuse and mental health compulsory secondary schools subjects

Petition Details

We ask the Government to make lessons about mental health and lessons on anti-abuse compulsory for secondary schools. These lessons would teach adolescents to spot the signs of abuse and negative mental health, such as depression and anxiety, before they become serious situations or disorders.

Additional Information

We believe more needs to be done to help adolescents understand mental health issues and understand and interpret all forms of abuse from a young age, so that they can look after themselves and their peers and improve their mental wellbeing. We think these lesson would also be important in helping young people find out where they can get professional help and support. We believe, more needs to be done to protect young people from all forms of abuse and to improve their mental well-being.
