Give citizenship to refugees who hold the ILR without having to wait for 5 years
Refugees who were resettled in the UK through refugee resettlement programme and who were granted the ILR upon arrival, can now apply for citizenship after 1 year without having to wait for another 5 years.
Refugees and stateless refugees who hold the indefinite leave to remain and are able to integrate in the society and meet the English and life in the UK requirements, and certain qualifications can become a great help for the country’s economy.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Refugees are not granted ILR immediately upon arrival. Refugees can apply for ILR after 5 years in the UK. They can then apply for citizenship after 12 months of being granted ILR.
We can accept petitions calling for changes to when refugees can apply for ILR or citizenship, but we aren't sure exactly what changes you want.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
If you start a new petition you'll need to provide your full name.
