Petition Action

Random drug and alcohol testing for teachers in schools.

Petition Details

If teachers or parents have suspicions of a colleague or teacher being intoxicated on site that a breathalyser system should be in place and random drugs tests for all teachers should be in place.
Teachers have a duty of care to protect and nurture our precious children.

Additional Information

I feel it is a massive safe guarding issue that needs to be addressed.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about drug and alcohol testing policies in schools are a matter for individual schools, not the UK Government or Parliament.

If you are concerned about safeguarding in schools in your area you could raise this with a local councillor who represents you. You can find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them, by entering your post code here: www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors
