Extend qualified one-way cost shifting to Equality Act discrimination claims
Amend the civil procedure rules (44.13) to extend qualified one-way cost shifting arrangements to discrimination claims under the Equality Act (2010).
Disabled people like myself can find it extremely hard to sue big organisations for discrimination. When I did this I was taking a huge financial risk. And chose to settle out of court when I didn't really want to because of the financial risk. I believe that extending qualified one-way cost shifting from personal injury cases to discrimination cases will make it much easier to get affordable legal representation when individuals like myself want to take legal action against big organisations.
