Rejoin the EU Horizon science project with full members as soon as possible.
I would like the government to rejoin the EU Horizon project in full as soon as humanly possible, not just partial membership and a ‘compensatory’ UK initiative - progress in science relies on the collaboration of the world’s most brilliant minds.
This project is essential if the UK is to continue to lead the world in essential, innovative scientific developments, eg the AZ COVID vaccine was the result of 20 years of research from our top scientists.All our brilliant scientists warn of a brain drain away from the UK if membership of Horizon is only partial. Note also that our science community is one of our largest assets for growth, prosperity and good health.
