Remove involuntary medication protocols from our NHS system.
If someone has trauma the it can be extenuated by the very idea of involuntary medication protocols.
These protocols can even cause more trauma.
Trauma can ruin lives, and it's extention/continuation or addition of which can prevent us dealing with previous traumas.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you're concerned about certain cases where individuals are medicated without giving consent, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
Under the Mental Health Act 1983 patients can be subject to compulsory detention and treatment of a mental disorder. Under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 patients can be treated without giving consent if they do not have the capacity to make this decision due to an impairment of the mind or brain. The NHS is responsible for making decisions about when to apply this legislation in respect of individual patients.
We could accept a petition calling for one or both of the above provisions to be removed. If that's what you want to happen you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
