Address the crisis in NHS dentistry.
We call on the Secretary of State for Health to make an immediate intervention to address the crisis in NHS Dentistry & prevent further worsening of health inequality in the UK.
People in pain & some with potentially serious health problems are waiting weeks & months to see an emergency dentist.
Emergency & preventative dentistry is a fundamental healthcare provision: playing a critical role in preventing serious & potentially life threatening conditions eg bone infection, sepsis & oral cancer. In much of the UK there are now no NHS dentists operating nor NHS appointments available, even for those lucky enough to be registered with a dentist. Meanwhile private appointments are available but only to those who can afford it. We call on the Secretary of State to take immediate action now.
