Enforce anti-bullying education in all UK schools
This petition is being done to help protect the victims of bullying. By providing anti-bullying education, this could not only benefit the victims but discourage the bullies from persisting with what could potentially lead to fatal consequences.
Education in schools is vital.
Whilst schools have bullying policies, they are rarely implemented until it is too late, when the victim has serious and lasting affects on their mental health.
All children should be taught about the harmful consequences for the victim including depression, anxiety, fear of social situations, school refusal, self harming and in some cases suicide. If a bully knew and understood the consequences and was taught to see things from the victims perspective, would they continue? Its worth exploring.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
As part of Relationships Education (primary), Relationships and Sex Education (secondary) and Health Education schools are already required to teach students about bullying.
At primary school, students should be taught about about:
- different types of bullying (including cyberbullying), the impact of bullying, responsibilities of bystanders (primarily reporting bullying to an adult) and how to get help.
- that bullying (including cyberbullying) has a negative and often lasting impact on mental wellbeing.
- that the internet can also be a negative place where online abuse, trolling, bullying and harassment can take place, which can have a negative impact on mental health.
At secondary school, students should be taught about:
- different types of bullying (including cyberbullying), the impact of bullying, responsibilities of bystanders to report bullying and how and where to get help.
- how to identify harmful behaviours online (including bullying, abuse or harassment) and how to report, or find support, if they have been affected by those behaviours.
