Decriminalize the TV Licence Fee
Decriminalize the TV Licence fee so that the BBC is no longer publicly funded, enouraging it to seek funding through advertising.
The BBC is not impartial, it should not rely on taxes, instead it should be funded through advertising which will encourage it to produce programmes which would appeal to a wider UK audience rather than pandering to a vocal minority based in London.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
Your petition calls for the TV licence to be decriminalised, but then goes on to say that you want the BBC to cease to be publicly funded. Decriminalising non-payment of the TV licence would mean that not paying the TV licence would no longer be a criminal offence, but it would still be legally required, and non-payment could be pursued through civil means.
If what you want is for the TV licence to be abolished, we could accept a petition requesting that.
