Make it illegal to farm octopus for the production of food

Petition Details

Prevent the start of any form of octopus farming for the production of food to be allowed. Be a country which shows the world that this is completely unacceptable.

Additional Information

Nueva Pescanova are a Spanish multinational company intent on starting production of octopus for food. We believe is abhorrent that highly intelligent sentient animals could be farmed for food.

As the world wakes up to food production and meat consumption, the start of this type of practice is literally going against the tide.

Octopuses are arguably as intelligent as humans and to see them bred and reared at this point of human evolution would be horrific.
