Fund "Free" sessions correctly so nurseries give free childcare and be viable
I applaud the idea of free childcare ONLY if the full price is paid. The current scheme leaves a funding gap requiring the childcare provider to foot the bill for the gap …, or go out of business. Free childcare is not free! The "loss' is funded by the nursery provider
Fund nursery places properly.
The fact that the Government is erroneously promoting free childcare and legally tying up providers to bridge the gap and make a loss is catastrophic. What other sector would accept being forced to offer their products or services at a loss?
Effectively the Government is artificially controlling the business model and putting the sector at risk.
