Regulate travel time in the private care industry
Make sure community care workers are given enough time to travel between service users homes and paid their hourly rate for the travelling.
Travelling between service users is part of the community care workers job, the time given between calls is sometimes not adequate, which could possibly lead to cutting time with service users short or driving faster to get to the next call on time. Also, on a typical week a care worker could be working in excess of 10 plus hours without being paid for it eg. Working a 40 hour week but only being paid for 30.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Workers are already entitled to be paid for all working time, which includes travelling in connection with work, including travelling from one work assignment to another.
If an employer fails to do this you can raise this with either Acas or HMRC: www.gov.uk/pay-and-work-rights
