Lengthen the hours and dates that people can contact their local council.

Petition Details

Calling your local council, DWP, HMRC etc is only available to you through the hours of Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. These services should be available for longer hours and even on the weekends.

Additional Information

Many people have personal responsibilities during these hours. They go to work, school etc and it isn't possible for them to find the time to make these calls. This is in addition to the long wait times so even if you manage to make a call later on in the day, you still may not be able to reach these services in time.
