Compulsory drug-tests for MPs and other elected officials

Petition Details

Introduce compulsory, randomised drug-testing for MPs and all other elected officials in public office.

Additional Information

At a time when the government is clamping down on the recreational use of drugs and many ordinary people are required by their terms of employment to take randomised drug-tests, MPs and other public officials should lead by example and also be required to take such tests, as anyone whose judgement is clouded by illegal drug use should not be making decisions which affect the lives of everyone in the country. Any elected official who fails such a test should be barred from office.
