Petition Action

Train More NHS Dentists

Petition Details

Set up 5 year contracts for newly qualified dentists' trained within NHS England. There are no NHS Dental Practices in the South West of England, Plymouth in particular taking on NHS patients. They are all taking private patients.

Additional Information

People cannot afford to pay private dental fees. We are going to have communities of children growing up with bad teeth and oral hygiene which could lead to oral cancer. We give monies to other countries to help out with silly projects. Why can the government not put money back into our own country and sort out the failing NHS Dental Service which as tax payers We are entitled to use.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The NHS is responsible for contracting for NHS dental services, not the Government/Parliament.
