Centrally Fund a Tram or Underground Transport System for Leeds
A reliable, built-in form of public transport would greatly benefit the West Yorkshire urban area, and this should receive funding from the Government. Similar schemes within Manchester and Sheffield have been a huge success, and it feels that Leeds and the surrounding area has been left behind.
Reliable public transport in Leeds would transform the liveability of the city, and greatly benefit residents, as well as being environmentally conscious.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about local transport improvements are a matter for individual local authorities, not the UK Government or Parliament.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to release funding for local transport improvements along these lines, but can't accept petitions calling for additional funding to be granted to specific local authorities.
