Improve tenants rights in pursuing accountability for insurance company failures
Empower tenants and Landlords to pursue appropriate damages caused when insurance companies and any contractor engaged by the insurer have caused delays to emergency works and appropriate duty of care (arranging alternative accommodation) resulting in significant breaches of the tenancy contract
Myself, our Landlord & Letting Agency had to fight the Landlord's insurer for a resolution to a failed boiler which was not approved by 13 days. We have a 10 month old baby & had to fight for alternative accommodation after we were left in a house with no heating or hot water for 5 days while the insurer disputed authorising works. They then failed to secure alternative accommodation & forced us to return to a house with no heating or hot water before the boiler was fixed. We cannot be only case

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
You could contact the Housing Ombudsman about your issue:

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
