Sign a defensive pact with Sweden to keep them safe
Make it so if Sweden is attacked it counts as us being attacked which would allow us to call on NATO. It would be a major deterrent.
We have already seen Russian aggression with the idea of countries trying to join NATO, so we should try and keep Sweden safe.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about when an armed attack is considered an attack against NATO is a matter for NATO, and cannot be changed by a member state entering a separate agreement with a non member state.
The UK and Sweden have already agreed a Political Declaration of Solidarity, to confirm their shared desire for closer, stronger defence and security cooperation, and to reinforce their key strategic partnership: www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-sweden-statement-11-may-2022/united-kingdom-sweden-statement
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to seek a new defensive agreement with Sweden, but this would not affect how NATO operates.
